Overview

Nord Star Superyachts is thrilled to present 91′ 7″ / 27.91m Conrad Sailing Yacht BELLKARA for sale.

Pretend that you have an unlimited budget to build a 100-foot sailing yacht to travel the world in comfort, safely, at speeds comparable to ocean-crossing motor yachts and all this with first-class accommodations. How would you proceed?

✔ Vincent Lebailly Yacht Design — If you are not a naval architect, you would first have to hire a top sailing-yacht designer with a reputation for creating designs second to none.

✔ Norbert Sedlacek — To manage this project, you would need to hire a world-renowned sailor with circumnavigational experience to ascertain that the design and all the equipment aboard could meet the rigors imposed by anything Mother Nature could throw at her.

✔ Rigging — If your plan was to sail with six guests, because of the limitation in space, you would need to be able to sail this yacht long distances with the minimal crew (4), thus requiring the most advanced rigging, canoe furling hydraulic boom, self-tacking staysail, an extensive hydraulic system for winches, steering, and lifting an 11,600 Kg bulb and 3800 Kg fin for a total of 15.4 tons!

✔ Safety — In case of accidents far away from the shore, you would want watertight bulkheads (6) high flow seawater fire-fighting equipment (17.5 m3/h) and high capacity bilge pumps with the same capabilities.

✔ Range & Amenities — In order to cross oceans, you will need long range on engines if wind subsides (1000 nm at 10 knots), an international electrical converter to plug into power anywhere in the world (25 kVA input: 170-520 VAC 40-70Hz), a high output watermaker (142 liters/hr. filtered to 5 microns with UV sterilizer), and an unrestricted navigation notation with a yacht classification agency Bureau Veritas.

✔ High efficient hull design — Finally, to create a yacht finish that will generate the required ouhs and awhs commensurate with your investment, the fairing of your aluminum hull should be perfect (no more than 6mm deflection when a 3-meter batten is placed over any part of the hull) and finished off with 12 coats of primer, paint, and clear coat.

Could you afford to build such a cruising sailing yacht?

It would take you 2 years to build such a project but now BELLKARA can be yours for only 5,8 million Euros! Her unique concept originates from the desire for unsurpassed freedom, love for the sea and passion for sailing. An experienced sailor, the owner, had extraordinary yet precise requirements. A real challenge to all parties involved, project management was entrusted to Norbert Sedlacek, a world-renowned sailor whose experience from a single-handed circumnavigation of the globe was invaluable to this project.

This is an offer too good to refuse.
