Sanlorenzo has announced its participation in a consortium aiming to acquire the operating business of The Italian Sea Group (TISG), one of Italy’s leading yacht builders currently undergoing restructuring.
The proposed consortium, Polo Nautico Carrara, intends to preserve TISG’s shipbuilding operations, protect jobs, and support the local network of suppliers and craftsmen that have long been at the heart of Italy’s yacht-building industry.
Sanlorenzo will join the initiative as a minority shareholder alongside several international shipyards and industry partners. According to the company, the goal is not simply an investment, but a commitment to preserving the expertise, innovation, and manufacturing heritage that have made Italian yacht building world-renowned.
The Italian Sea Group, owner of the Admiral, Tecnomar, and Perini Navi brands, entered restructuring proceedings earlier this month following financial difficulties. If approved, the acquisition would allow the business to continue operating under new ownership while maintaining its production facilities and highly skilled workforce.
The move is seen as a positive signal for the superyacht industry, demonstrating the willingness of leading Italian shipyards to work together in protecting one of the country’s most important industrial sectors and ensuring the long-term future of Italian yacht manufacturing.
